Who we are
Established in 1840, R. G. Foreman & Son has been a cornerstone of the Norham community for five generations, providing high-quality, locally-sourced meats and artisanal products. Founded by Robert George Foreman, the business remains at the same premises today, where Robert was joined by his brother Harry, who eventually ventured out to start his own business in Lowick. Sadly, Harry's life ended in a tragic accident while delivering to Holy Island, but the Norham shop continued to thrive.
The business has grown significantly over the years, from its first motorized vehicle in 1918 to a fleet that once served a 15-mile radius, with the expansion into Eyemouth and Berwick-upon-Tweed. Throughout these changes, the commitment to providing fresh, locally-sourced meat has remained unwavering.
In recent years, the Foreman family has passed the torch to Paul ‘Jim’ Yeomans, who joined the family business in 2001. Over the years, Paul’s dedication and hands-on approach earned him the role of director in 2019, and he took the monumental step of purchasing the business upon the retirement of the last two Foremans.
Today, R. G. Foreman & Son is proud to offer a range of premium meats, seasonal game, delicious homemade pies, and local specialties, all while continuing the legacy of quality and service that has defined the business for over a century. We look forward to welcoming you and providing you with the best that Northumberland and the Scottish Borders have to offer.
